NEWS

Here are the latest happenings for the Sun Prairie Area NCD.

9/1/2006:

We are now actively seeking an Organizing Pastor for the new congregation. We invite applications from individuals with proven effectiveness in networking with people, building relationships, motivating volunteers, raising funds, and matching individuals' gifts with discerned needs, in order to inspire a new congregation to gather, grow, and go forth to serve God in the local community and wider world. The full-time position offers a generous financial package.  Non-Presbyterian applicants are welcome. More details are available in the Church Information Form.  Direct inquiries and applications to Brad Brown, PNC Chair, 101 Everglade Drive, Madison, WI, 53717 (pnc@sunprairiepresbyterian.org). Initial screening of applicants began Sept. 1, 2006.

5/17/2006:

  • We're awaiting the outcome of efforts to rezone the land that's been pledged.  Please include this in your prayers for the new congregation.
  • The commission expects to approve a "CIF" (or Church Information Form) within the next few weeks.  This is the first official step in the search for an organizing pastor. Please pray that the right person will be brought to us, and that we'll recognize him or her.
  • The Synod of Lakes and Prairies has approved our request for a grant of $50,000 toward the development of this new church.
  • The Mission Development Resources Committee of the Presbyterian Church USA has approved a grant of $100,000 toward the development of the new church.
  • Over $20,000 has been given by local congregations.  Significant additional financial support has been pledged by the John Knox Presbytery and individuals.

Have questions?  We'd love to hear from you.
